Obituary
Maxine Ann Blair, 86, of Salinas, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving family as she went home to be with the Lord and her heavenly family. Maxine was born May 17, 1932, in Lily, South Dakota.
She was one of ten children to Aloysuis and Marion Lynch. She grew up on farms in Lily. In high school, she started dating Frank (Buzz) Blair, who she married on December 8, 1951. They were blessed with 61 years of marriage. Buzz and Max moved to Salinas in 1962 with seven children and one on the way! Maxine showed her love for others by sharing her passion in sewing and baking. She enjoyed making dresses, quilts and many hand-crafted gifts made from love for her family and friends. Maxine’s home was filled with the aroma of cooking and baking for others. She held onto the long tradition of writing letters to loved ones; sharing her life of family and long-time friends with others. Maxine was a member and attended Madonna Del Sasso Church for over 55 years. She was always faithful to prayer and praying the rosary. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and always looked forward to her Bunco and Bridge gatherings with her long-time friends. She was a woman who loved and valued family traditions; finding joy and happiness being surrounded by family. She looked forward with anticipation to family reunions held in various states and annual trips to South Dakota to visit with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank (Buzz) Blair, parents Aloysuis and Marion Lynch, two brothers and five sisters. Maxine is survived by her sister Theresa (Trea) Schuring; brother Jerry Lynch; children: Carmen (John) Kloncz, Connie (Rod) Wadsworth, Owen (Linda) Blair, Paul (Gloria) Blair, Kevin Blair, Tammy (Joseph) Hernandez, Joan Molina, David (Anna) Blair; 14 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren with one on the way! Rosary 9:30 am Monday, July 16, 2018 at Madonna Del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas,CA. 93906, followed by Memorial Mass 10:00 am. Immediately following, Burial Service will be held at 2:00 pm July 16, 2018 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery 32053 West McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA 95322. A Special Celebration of Life Reception will be held on: August 19, 2018, from 12-4pm at Salinas Storm House, 185 Maryal Dr., Salinas,CA. 93906.
